I worked on the content strategy, content requirements and content adaption for the master version of the Michelin Variable Connected Mobile site. Which is now starting to role out across Europe.
For optimum readability and ease of use on mobile, the content is displayed as simple, non-interactive content pieces, repositioned as short, practical guides rather than lengthy educational essays. They are edited down to include only the essential information, presented, where possible, as checklists and bullet points.
The mobile site is in line with mobile UI best practice for long form content, particularly skimming and scrolling.
The main purpose is to increase the ease and speed of skimming and scrolling the articles to find relevant sections that can be expanded for details. Placing the focus on key information and facts, and to avoid endless scrolling for the user, each article is divided into components so that key information is visible at a glance. Users tap to expand a deeper accordion panel content layer accesses secondary information.
