Relaunching the Philips brand: A new digital storytelling platform
In 2013, Philips unveiled its brand positioning that builds on the company’s legacy of creating innovations that matter to people.
Part of its new re-positioning, Philips introduced the new brand line “innovation and you”, which is rooted in Philips’ strong belief that innovation is only meaningful if it is based on a deep understanding of people’s needs and desires.
The design of the Philips shield was also modernised for use in digital and mobile channels while retaining its heritage of the stars and waves.
The brand direction was brought to life by the launch of a digital storytelling platform, showcasing a wide range of Philips innovations that make a real difference to people across the globe.
‘Innovation and you’ was a pretty meaningless statement, until they shot 25 video stories about how they touched real people’s lives across the world.
Then it all made sense.
My humble role was to create print ads and posters that captured these 25 stories, which were then prominently displayed on every media hot spot to capture every eyeball throughout the Philips global network.
